460 crank in a 429
I am in the process of buildin up my 429, and have run into a dilemma. Before I send out my rotating assembly to the balancing shop I was wondering if it is not too late to put in a 460 crank. My block is a pre- 72 429 block. I know that I have to change the pistons, but are there any other differences?? If all there is to change is the crank and pistons then I will go for it.

Nick,
There's a formula on the link page on how to calculate deck clearance. You want to do it before you send your block to the shop in case it needs to be decked. You'll need the compression height of your pistons. .040 is high, the tighter it is, (.000-.040)the better the quench.
