v10 catalytic converter removal
hey everyone...i am new on here and it seems like there are a lot of you guys that know the ends and outs of these great machines...i have a question....i have always had the converter cut off all my trucks and added straight pipes with "Big Boy" chrome tips and i love the way they sound and perform....however, the guy that has done the last 4 trucks says he wont cut out the converter on my new one...its a 2001 F-250 v10.... he says I can cut it off and he will put the tips on from there...the only thing he mentioned that has me concerned is that he said i need to be careful of the O2 sensor...can any one explain what i need to look for when removing the converter??? thanks for any help----

the important o2 sensor is before the cat. you could cut out the cat with no problem, you might get a CEL.
BUT there is really no need to cut it out, the stock ford cat is very good, it is better than most high flow cats. if you remove it you will not notice any power or MPG increase.
you only get ALOT more NOISE. and the v10 sounds like *** with out a cat, dose not sound like a good v8.
check out my vid on you tube. it is my 01 f250 V10 with the muffler cut off, stock cat is still there. it sounds a little raspy do to cheap camera, but it sounds ok in person.
*lots of smoke due to cold startup on 20 degree day*

my exhaust and your exhaust are probly the same loudness, just yours is all the way at the back bumper, so you cant really hear it from the drivers seat.
get some one to rev the truck, while your standing near your exhaust, you should hear it then
