I'm gonna have to buy a house with a bigger yard\garage so I can increase the size of my fleet and keep up with you guys.....
Hey Joe, I agree with ya on leaving the door handles and such, I think it adds to the personality of these old drivers!
The thing about a free one is that you can play HARD with the mods and if you mess up your not out $ as bad.

I sat down and really thought about the destiny of this old 49. As you all know, my mom was killed, and my parents' motor home was completely destroyed. Dad, now has no means of traveling around in comfort. He doesn't want to do the whole motor home thing again, but instead, a 5th wheel. He was born in 49, and has always wanted a good 49 coupe, or pick up. I am going to go the route of a trailer hauler with this one. I may keep it regular cab, but will likely go full double cab. I think I will keep my eyes out for a later dually frame, and go the route of either a diesel dually tug, or a big block powered tug. I am liking the thought of a P-stroke, or Cummins, but depending on what I can find in the way of deals, it may receive a big block gasser.

Well, if the police catch the sob that broke in to the house, and stole the camera, I'd go get some photos. I'll have to let the camera phone do the dirty work this weekend. I don't know, the truck looked restorable. last time I saw it anyway, but I've got my semi, I got my dads 55 F-350 pick up coming (soon I hope), and here in a bit, I am planning on replacing the fire truck (since I sold it, and it's leaving in the spring), with another one. The 49, aint really my personal favorite, like I said, I like the 53-56 (53-55 mainly) trucks. I figure, after all the crap that has happened in the last 18 1/2 months, it's time to get back to the usual things. My dad is one of my heroes, and so I figure, why not. I was gonna make a daily driver type mild rod, but after deep thought, I think the crewcab idea that tanked on my semi, can go into the 49. I don't feel like doing another semi for a while, but a cc dually with a warmed over BBF, or even a diesel, as a daily driver/tug truck, would be awesome. Giving it to dad, keeps the wife happy (by limiting the stablsize) and would make the dad happy too, and it would be something I know he would be proud of, and would appreciate every time he sat in it, and turn the key.
