that's because were all opinionated bull crap artist's looking for somewhere to espout our views and show the world how much we { don't} know especially to newcomers . we are on a mission to impress you and make you beleive that we are all knowing !!!!!!! LOL

Hi wilky, I'm not trying to persuade you one way or the other, it's a decision you'll have to make on your own. The reason I did it was because the frame width was the same as the panels original but the wheel base was much longer and had to be shortened, for this I had a compitant welder do the welding, I've seen different methods of cutting the frame in half and I'm no authority of which method is best. Which ever way you decide to do it there is always someone on this site that will give you advice. If you decide to go ahead with the swap just remember to think at least 5 steps ahead of your actions is my advice.

I've got a '72 chevy chassis under my '48, but it was done by the PO. Looks like it was a relatively easy swap, but there are some issues with track width. If you have more time than money and the 77 you got is free, I'd say giver'....but then again I'll say anything the recruit another darksider here.
