300 inline-6 firing order????
I cannot find the firing order for my 84 ford bronco 4x4. I rescently changed the cam/lifters, put an offenhuaser intake and holley 4160 carb on her. I got every thing together except the the dist and plug wires. I can't find anything anywhere and then I found this site. Thank-god.
Also, if anyone could give me a wiring diagram or tell me how to wire together the stock dist/coil/ignition system. Appearantly there are 20 or so wires hanging around in there that I don't need or have any idea what they go to. Remember that I changed my intake and carb. I no longer have all of that emissions stuff to worry about.
Other things Ive done to the ole girl: Z-gate shifter, fuel cell, 2800 stall conv, 9" rear-end, 7" of ttl lift, 38.5 supper swamper boggers, pace setter headers, tranny cooler, and I have a mallory dist and Hi-Fire ignition for later, but first I gotta get her running.

alsoyou said you had twenty or so wires on that ignition system, well im assuming its the tfi system, is it?
if i was you id switch to a simple system such as points, or duraspark 2, clifford has malory distributors for the 300 as well.

Don't 4 get
unless you remove the distributor..replacing the OLD #1 in the same position on the new cap is what u must do irregardless of where the "1" is stamped on the cap.

My question is concerning the location of the #1 cylinder on a ford engine compared to GM engine. Not the location of the #1 cylinder on the distributor cap.

I don't know, you're asking questions about a GM motor on a Ford site.

my bad..
I don't understand what you're trying to say; your sentence is constructed in such a way that makes it difficult to read. My previous post is almost five years old; it is by chance I noticed that you were responding to it. The thread itself is over 11 years old.

I believe every inline 6 is 153624. I know all of mine, even my IH Scout diesel, had the same order. Oldest was a 48 Chrysler Spitfire flathead and newest my 95 300 with a bunch of Chevys, Fords, Mopars, and AMCs in between.
The old mechanics saying was 15 is too young, 36 too old, and 24 is just right.
