Actual MPG with F-150
I had a 97 F-150 4x4 reg. cab 4.6 3.55 gears 16" tires and I got 14 or 15 around town. It had good power and I towed some pretty heavy stuff. On the highway 60 to 70 mph I was getting 21 or 22, 75 to 80 and up to 90 sometimes I got 16 or 17. then I bought a 98 F-150 4x4 reg. cab shortbed 5.4 3.73 gears 17" tires, it actually turns less rpm's than the 97 because of the taller tires, I guess but it's 11 or 12 city and 13 or 14 and 1 tank at 16mpg at 60 with the overdrive off. If I had to do it all over again, I would get the 4.6, it never gave me any trouble and the power isn't that much more noticable. Hope I helped, John

Actual MPG with F-150
I have a Canadian made 2000 F150 4x4 Lariat, 5.4 litre, Supercab, Automatic, 3:55 Rear W/Traction-Lok Rear & Front, Tow Package. Use Synthetic in Engine, Soon to be in all fluids (sure would have helped this winter) and soon to have a K&N Filter. Right now on the flats @ 70-75mph....I get a consistent 18 to 19 mpg. Its Canadian made which, when I bought it, listed 18 mpg vs the American made 17 mpg and 265 horsepower vs American 260 horsepower. My goal with the synthetics in the differentials and transmission and transfer case and the new K&N filter along with the new Diablo Delta chip is 20mpg+ and 300 horesepower! It has been a wonderful truck and goes places in the mountains w/o chains, when other rigs had chains on all fours. I think my outfit is one-of-a kind.
