Leather seat wearing very fast!

07 Expy with 11K miles and about 5 months on it. The drivers seat bottom is already showing wear. Is this common on Ford trucks? Man, seems way too soon. I take meticulous care of my seats too. Here are a couple of pix.

I have had the same issue with my '05 which has 32K on it. In the same spot. I took mine into the dealer a couple weeks ago and they had that wearing section re-dyed. It was a perfect color match, but not a permanent fix for the problem. Unfortunately, I think it's the quality of the leather.

Yeah. It stinks. This is going to be a high traffic area for the seat and they should have 'beefed' it up some. How did the leather of yesteryear last so dang long and with abuse!
