What size fuel tank do I have?

Don't know! My 4x2 has a steel tank that hold 30+ gallons, it's an XLT.

I believe if it's a short box 29.0 gal / Long Box 38.0 gal

mines a short box. i'll go with the 29 gal. is there someplace i can check that would tell me for sure?

If you do the harpoon mod it will hold 34 gallons from dry.

LOL--I believe the "official" capacity is 29 gallons but it WILL hold 34. Do the harpoon mod and you can fill it about 20 times as quick---allllllll the way to the filler cap.

what exactly is the harpoon mod? when I fill up I know my 29 gallon tank is holdind more then 30 gallons but it has to go s l o w...

I found a thread last week with pictures that explained this
(sorry, can't find it now).

Essentially you lower the fuel tank pull the pump and cut
the fuel inlet hose inside the tank a few inches shorter.
This allows the fuel to go in must faster and since the hose
is higher in the tank more fuel will go in before the inlet hose
backs up and shuts the pump off.

Actually all you have to cut off is the small vent line inside the tank. There isn't a benefit to cutting off the fill tube. Jake and I did his about a month or so ago and I think his actually fills faster with the fill tube still intact vs. mine which is cut off.
