starter problem??

wow i haven't been on here in awhile... so when i crank my truck it makes a sound kinda like as if something is rattling A LOT inside the starter... it goes away right after the truck starts... pretty much here's what happens...
i get in the truck turn the key for the WTS light... once it goes off if it's warmer out i'll crank it... if not then i'll let the WTS light go on one more time... while i crank it i hear "clackellelelackelckkackalckelackekla" like that... lol... and then once it starts it's fine.. it also cranks over pretty weak... i think the starter might be SHOT???

i had the next step problem this morning...... solenoid click, starter does nothing. my starter was only a year old, too. check the resistance of the solenoid, i think any more than 0.8 drop indicates a bad solenoid. maybe save ya a bit of cash w/o replacing a whole starter (which was 200 from napa, btw)

nah it's not the solenoid i know what that sounds like... and it was replaced not too long ago... cause it does crank and it's not a click.. it's a loud crunching... i guess that's the best way to describe it.. and coming from underneath the truck not under the hood

It sounds like it may be loose. If not check everything else under there to see if it loose.
