convince me to buy this... lol
SO I went out and looked around tonight, was just bored...
Out at some car lot in the wholesale section was an old 79 f-150, I had the chance to buy a 77 before, but bought my 95 instead...
Its nothing spectacular, yet... The body actually looks pretty solid, which for Iowa is impressive, and looks like it was repainted by Earl Shieb not too long ago, but not in that bad of a way... I'd probably redo the interior, looks like it needs sound proofing, and a comfyer bench seat... The interior does feature a sun roof, which I have never seen in a pickup before...
The place was closed, cause it was about midnight... But still, it sounds cool... I think I'll go back tomorow and have a closer look, hopefully the thing runs, and they don't want too much more than 500 bucks for it....

I would buy it. 1979 model is one of the last good body styles in my opinion. I had a 1976 I wish i still had.

Well I went and looked, it does look nice... Its got dual exhaust, it sounded great, though the cab would still need insulating... The motor looks all stock, and might need a little work, kinda dusty...
The only problem is the dealer wants $2990 for it. Holy hell. Thats just a little too much for me, maybe I'd give him $900 for it, but nothing more...
Damn.... Maybe next time...
Anybody got an old truck laying around in their backyard I might want to buy? lol

I've been thinking about picking up another one, people are pawning them off pretty cheap due to the high gas prices.

They are poretty chepa to insure if you can register them as a antique. I looked into that when I was going to buy a 1978 Trans Am. For a car worth $20K, that I could drive up to 10K miles a year, it was only $145 a year I think. Something really low like that. My daily driver insuarance is $1378 a year. It was $2500 upto about a month ago.
