i put a B&M floor shifter in mine. ...I still haven't got the correct shift plate for it but it's not a must for me. My Park is Reverse and so on since i need 1st more then i do park since i only use it for wheeling. So I just start it in Neutral. If you get the correct kit for it then you'll be fine.

You looking for stock? For which BII? The 88 and the 85 may have different tunnel cover sizes.

The larger plate on the right is from an 88. The smaller is from an 84. Does yours have a manual shift t-case?

Ok. Let me go dig through what I have. I used to have the one from my 88 2wd. I'll post pic's of what I have.

Not a lot of good news. I don't have my 2wd shifter. I do have some peices left. But they are what was left over when I put an early C-5 shifter on a later larger plate in the pic above. So I don't have the plate (it's in my 94 X now) And I don't have the short peice that connects the bell crank to the tranny. That will be hard to find as folks in salvage yards just cut it in half when they pull trannys. The shifter is an A4LD shifter though. It has 4 forward gears cut in the small plate and the locking lever on the rod does go in the correct direction (A4LD shift patern was cut on the top where as the C-5 was cut on the bottom). Console/cover is for a manual shift t-case though. It is stiff and I was not able to get the shifter lever to move with the button. But I did not spend a lot of time on it. If you can use any of it I will ship it to you for the cost of shipping. If it were me I'd look at a local salvage yard for a shifter from a 2wd. And pull all the parts I have shown. And hope you can find one with the tranny still in it and get the short rod that connects the tranny shift lever to the bell crank.

The Ranger had more engine/tranny options but as long as it was a 2.9/A4LD it should work. The BII's had a dummy t-case in the 2wd where the Rangers did not but I can't see that being a problem. Only other thing I could think of is the rod from the shifter may be a bit different in the 4wd vs. the 2wd, or the lever and rod could be different to clear a manual shift t-case. But his is electric shift so either should work for him.

If it was the 87 BII you have listed it would have been an A4LD. They put the C-5 in the 84 BII's. And in the 83-85 Rangers. Not saying there were no 85 C-5 BII's it's just I have not found any. All 85 C-5's I have found were in Rangers. So if you have your old shifter stuff around it is what Ralph needs.

If it helps any, i just pulled the shifter out of my 86 Bronco II 4X4, and put it into my 87 2X4. In fact i changed everything and made it a 4X4,. I have the old shifter, but its broken and won't go into 1st or Park. Don't figure that would do you much good tho.
