If someone puts the supercrew back seat headrests on incorrectly, the seat must be disassembled to get the headrest out. There are no instructions in the manual on how to install the headrests and the headrests must be removed to put the seats down (often by someone other that the owner,unfortunately). Does anyone have a suggestion?

Don't pull you back seat apart yet. Look on page 129 of your owners manuel. It recomends that you use a stiff piece of wire (papaer clip) and insert it into the hole on the opposite side of the release button. Do this and depress the release button and you should be able to remove the head rest. Let me know if this works
