Exhaust Help

Hi,

I'm as green as it comes in this truck game but I'm ready to start learning. I've just purchased a `95 F-150 full bed with a 4.9L V6 and I'm wanting to make it growl. So, I'm looking for a dual exhaust system that is going to be throaty and loud at the same time. With my limited knowledge on trucks I'd like something that doesn't require constant maintenance and care. I've had my eye on the Flowmaster American Thunder Series system. Can anyone fill me in on if this is what I'm looking for? If not, what am I looking for? lol

Thanks,
Chappy

First things first... it is not a v-6. its an inline 6. but its prolly just a typo.. as for the exhaust... go to www.exhaustsoundclips.com youll get a pretty good idea of what your interested in after that... and if not find someone on here that has a dynomax or something and ask them what they think oh yea and welcome to FTE!!!!

Thanks for the response man. Yea, I copied and pasted my message from a different forum where I was corrected on the "v6" comment. I appreciate the info.

Exhaust Help

I have a RaVin performance mffler (the Z-33) from Midas and, actually i really really like the sound....it rumbles when i downshift to slow when i get into town and isnt too loud and annoying in the cab.....and fairly decently priced. i also put a 3 1/2" Monza Big Bore tip on mine (stock 2 1/4" to the muffler and then 2 1/2" from there out the side) it sounds pretty awesome i get compliments alot

the dynomax is a 4.6L v-8...dunno how it got there...anyway, remove or replace the 2nd cat, use 2.5" pipe, muffler of ur choice and 2.5" all the way on out to stock location and u'll be set 300 inline 6 has its own sound so it wont get deep and wont get really loud (well with an open header) but has a nice, distinct sound.
