Interesting point! There is no thrust load on that bearing so hopefully it stays put, but since it is already assembled... I think I will look at throwing a spacer in the input before the NV4500 output goes in. I think the better way would have been to shim between the end of the splines to back of the bearing pocket in the first place.

Thanks for that observation!

Finished doing the fixed yoke conversion on the Dodge NV271. Just waiting for new input/output seals to get here....

Re-drilled the NV4500 tail housing to rotate the transfercase for an improved front drive shaft angle. I used a advanced adapter pacer as a drill guide...

Looks like I got this figured out....

This is a Eaton BB type power steering unit... I was able to order a seal kit and new regulator valve to reduce the op pressure to 1500 psi. I talked with the guys over at PSC and they said 1600 psi to my steering box (78-79 Ford) max or the sector shaft seals will leak, so thats why I went with the 1500psi reg.

Well it seems that I'm having a bit of trouble trying to find what application these were used and even unsure if it was even a Dodge option for 1996.
I want to use this pump on my 69 Ford Crew Cab project that I'm currently setting up for hydroboost... does anyone have any info on exactly what application this pump originates?

Drive haft will be here next week.... these guys over at High Angle Driveline have taken that agricultural CV (which does not survive sustained high speed applications) and performed (what Jess describes as) a little (or was it major) brain surgery. The net result is improved lubrication and durability for street use!

Here she is next to your standard 1 ton 1350 series CV...

Finally getting back to getting this 4-link built. There is a slight tweak in this frame under the drivers side... that shows up whenever I'm trying to establish reference points for measurement.

I was just looking back on this thread, and the rear brake conversion on this caught my eye. Those caliper brakets that you have, are those the same as the ones for the D60 or are they specific for the D80? Also what are use useing for pads, rotors and calipers? Awesome looking build though. I cannot wait to see what it looks like when it is totally finished.

I bought a conversion kit from Blackbirds Custom Trucks... I remember that they had to re-cut the plates for me, the index ID or bolt circle was off. I don't know the specifics of the calipers... sure that they are some standard GM stuff.

1960's Volvo motor mounts work nice for the trans....

Working on the final trans mount that ties in to the lower section...

Ok, been following this thread for a while now and you're rockin this thing. I'm like everyone else and waiting till this thing is completed just to see the final product.

Question on the rubber issolator mounts: How thick are they and what sized studs? Are the studs on both sides? What's they cost and where can I get some?

Thanks and again - GREAT WORK!!!

Hey,what is the hydroboost assy from? I have a 5.9 going in my 64 and it has that nice hydraullic pump on it and am thinking about doing hydroboost and a toyota steering box to get power steering.
Thanks

I just read through every page of this build... It is completely awesome.

I'v wanted to do this for a couple years now. Im glad that its coming together so nicely, slowly, but nicely. And its gonna make one heck of a truck, not only an awesome truck but a reliable, well built one.

Keep it going and
Good Luck
