Did I drive a lemon?

This weekend I drove a chevy a dodge and a ford all with diesels, sure felt like a big difference.
Chevy pinned you back in the seat, interior and noise were average.
Ford felt gutless and it had 30k on it but the interior and the noise inside and ride quality were way above chevy and dodge.
Dodge had decent power but interior was cheap ride was bumpy and had lots of noise inside.
I guess I am wondering if I drove a lemon super duty because it felt so slow compared to the other two trucks?
I am not trying to knock ford because I absolutely loved the interior and the ride quality was great and it was so much quiter inside but the lack of power was a disappointment.
I am 33 years old and have only ever driven a Ford vehicle so I am a ford fanatic.

Well it all depends on what years and models you drove. You didn't mention those in your post.

And welcome to the forum!

The Duramaxx is a pretty quick motor, but the newer 6.4 shouldnt be far behind.

Lol! J/K, the ford has deceptive power if you know what that means.

the '08's ****** and git up to about 60 then quit, the 6.0 was a dog up to 50 then takes off.

I had not noticed that, mine seems to have plenty of power right up until it hits the speed limiter (83). Don't know anything about the 6.0.

Yea, I raced with a 08 dodge diesel and was TOP DOG until about 80.

Diesel being Diesel- How does a 403ci Dmax out run a 390ci Powerstroke? How does the bigger one out accelerate the smaller one?
Fuel takes a certain amount of time to burn in the bore, how does the more amount burn quicker than the less amount. Time of cycle is horsepower, rev's is what win races.

The Chevy weighs about 1000 pounds less.

I had the exact same experience, except I test drove a brand new 6.4 and in comparison to the Dmax it was lacking much power and acceleration. The Dmax rolls the tires over in the 1-2 shift when you floor it! I was dissapointed in the 6.4 though, my 6.0 ps seem to pull harder the the 6.4 I test drove.............It's all water under the bridge now that I am in my new LMM, but I still have my 6.0 Ex which seems to be running good for now. I am always on the lookout for a 6.4 or a 6.7 haven't had 1 touch me out on the streets of Phoenix yet and I am all stock still!

Have over 5,000 miles on mine. the only stumble I ever had was for a couple of seconds when it went into regen. That was only during the 1st 2,000 miles. With the 4.30s it pulls strong from 0-82mph. If driving easy when it shifts into overdrive at about 45 mph you can feel a little drop in torque. Other than that at any speed under any other condition it has been right there. Especially towing in tow mode you can really feel the torque. If I am looking to get pinned in my seat I drive my Firehawk.

i drove a new 08 duramax in a crew cab dually and it would have embarrased my 6.4 in a race. but there is no room in the interior, and it just didnt feel as solid.

You don't have the "hesitation" between 1st and 2nd when you floor it from a dead stop?

Not at all between 1st & 2nd, very tight shift, surprised me. From a dead start it takes a split second to get reved. The 4.88s must really shift fast between gears.
