Does anyone have any ideas on how to sell firewood? I have tried Craigslist and only gotten a few hits, but nothing sold. I have plenty to sell but cant find anyone to buy it. Any ideas??

Post a sign in front of your home, put an ad in the paper, or post an ad on the bulletin board in your local supermarket. Offer delivery, if available, for an extra fee. That is what works around here, and if you have a lot to sell, you can make a good $......hope this helps!

local shopping center bulletin boards (home repair centers too)
signs outside your place near the road
local paper advertising
penny saver (or equivalent)

Most of those are going to get you only 3-5 hits but taken altogether, you should be able to make it work.

Good luck. I'f you're interested, I've got 6 piglets (about 10 weeks old) that I need to get rid of.... and I just happen to need some firewoord since I didn't get time to cut my own this summer.

Put a link to your CL ad so we can see what your ad looks like.

FWIW: Many people will not order wood until the snow starts to fall.

don't worry, as winter approaches and it gets colder, it will hit people that they actually need to get some, then you will have so many people that they will start a bidding war for the stuff.

Oh heck, I know you guys think I have tried just about anything barring brain surgery to make a buck. And heck I think I could do that also with a bit of training!
But being a central Idaho native, firewood is my second name. In the early 70's I was young and strong, and I would get a permit, and cut forty cords of wood a year. I used ten myself, so I sold thirty. In my neck of the woods back then it was easy to sell if priced properly. You will NOT get rich selling fire wood! LOL.
Now that I am living in Las Vegas even though it is illegal to burn firewood in the city, I wish I was young enough to cut and sell firewood.
Now people sell firewood for $6.50 a small bundle. Hell I could make an easy 5000 bucks a cord at that rate. The target market is campers! Get it?

People here that sell firewood usually put ads in the paper, and a lot of the time they sell the stuff dirt cheap (I swear I've seen a cord of split oak firewood for less than $50), lots of people here with wood stoves so there's a bit of a market for it.

I sold firewood winter before last, I was able to buy a sheet of magnet about 12''X18" or so at michaels craft store, then designed a lame little picture with my phone number and had kinkos print it the same size as the magnet. I made two for I wanna say $25 bucks and slapped 'em on my truck. that got the most customers. the second was word of mouth. There was a tree service that I was buying the wood from, and when someone wanted it delivered, they called me. You can see the magnet in the first picture in my gallery.

around here they'll stack it out front OR fill a trailer and park that out front with a sign on it. if they dont want you to deliver it tell them theres a deposit on the trailer refunded when they bring it back. put a sign up at your local bar where the old timers hang out alot of the older folks still heat with wood cuz they live in old houses(in general). what is nice to is an old manuar spreader with the beaters cut out and the aprin left in this way ya dont have to throw the wood again just pull up and turn it on to unload
