New Member here

Well my info says it anyways, I hope Im a member. Anyways Im in the Marysville/Yuba City area, just 30 miles north of Sacramento. Many Ford trucks rownd here lots of farmers. I have a 78 F-150 SuperCab 4x4 manuel w/ a 400, engine has less than 12k and the body is str8. Im doing some body work at the moment and am planning on shooting some paint this weekend. I like the older trucks pre 77 because of Cal smog regulations but got a deal on this 48 state non cat. Im a Hvac contractor and I run my own business. Well Ive learned alot on here, prob the most informative forum Ive visited thus far. Thanks for having me as a member.

Hi and Welcome - I sent you a PM when you signed up - but sometimes they get lost in the system. If you didn't get one, I apologize.

There is an "open me first" sticky note at the head of the tread lists that you might find useful should you have any questions about posting. You are also welcome to email me anytime.

You are doing your own painting? I want to, but all the new chemicals scare me off. The last time I painted a car our only choice was enamel or lacquer. Now they say the paint is safer for the environment, but might just kill the painter!

Tell me more about your painting?

Thanks for the welcomes. As far as paint.....just keep it simple since I have a clean truck to begin w/ I feather edged all my dings and dents and filled w/ bondo. Wet sanded the body, not to much hard sanding thank God. This weekend Ill throw down a layer of red sandable primer since the truck will be mostly black, then Ill keep it old skool and under budget using a single stage w/ a synthetic enamel. The truck is a two tone redish orange and off white at the moment and has never been painted, its a perfect platform to restore to factory color, but I never see 2 tone black and white on older trucks. So It just got stuck in my mind, plus It has the stock racing chrome and I have chrome wheels so black and chrome is always a hit.

Welcome to the forum Dogz-n-Rodz. If you want to learn about Fords, this is THE place to be. The Nor-Cal chapter is basically one big happy (albeit spread out) family.

Damn If it rains tomorrow Ill have to continue next weekend. Cool part I actually wet sanded in the rain this afternoon so no water hose was needed. We were getting heavy rain here in the sutter county. Feels good when your the only guy outside doing work in the rain w/ nothing but a DA sander and a diet snapple.

'67 Camaro 454 Pro Race 790HP now.... was 650. Can hardly wait !!!

Also have a LS1 Firebird but, hopefully, I won't have to pull that motor for a couple of years.

The Camaro is down to the frame right now. So just an hour to put it on the frame. Nothing in the way. Just like the factory. It will take us about a month of weekends to put her together.... We do it right !!! All new wiring. Custom dash etc.... needs to be fab'd etc...

S#!t - Pontiac never imo had a good engine of their own. Well, maybe 455 Super Duty or 421 Ram Air. Old school .... nothing new school. However, I always liked the Pontiac body better.

Let's talk Mopar ..... 426 Hemi for the win !!!!

But, what did Mopar use for Prototypes ???? Cardboard Boxes ???? I mean really,
There was no excitement in the body ..... ehhhh maybe '71 Cuda if you put on super fat tires in the rear.

'71 Cuda is the absolute best Mopar in my opinion. Next would be a '69 Charger. However, this is a Ford forum so um..we can talk about ...um...the Boss Mustangs I guess. except I don't know much about them.

I really don`t mean to hijack this thread but the other day I attemped
to join your chapter. I clicked where it told me to. Answered a question
about why I wanted to join your chapter. And that was it. ???
It seem the above new member somehow at least got some feedback
about membership. I have to assume my answer to your question
about why I wanted to join was not good enough.
