Hard to start after sitting a couple of days.
My truck has been sitting since tuesday night when i got home from work. I went to start it this morning(44 degrees) I had to cycle the glow plugs twice, jump the relay(which i won't do again, to many sparks) and finally clyle the plugs again. After it did start, i turned it off and it started right back. I suspect a bad relay. Can this be tested? I called my international dealer and he said he needed the engine number which i can't find to get me the right relay. Any ideas. Also i found a fuel leak which i will post a pick of later. What a morning.

When you turn the key to on, does the volt guage drop?..(it should for up to 2 mins),,Depending mostly on EOT...
Get in ,turn the key on, watch the guage ,when it jumps up, start it & see what happens....
If you test the GPR , unplug the EOT sensor ( the GP 's will stay on for about 2 mins..)
You should have battery voltage about the same on each of the two large posts on the GPR....

Did it start OK after you jumped the relay?
If not, you need to check the oil level in the HPOP. If the HPOP drains down the engine will take a long time to fire-up.
BTW: When you jump the relay don't be shy. Make the connection as quick and solid as possible. This will reduce the sparking.
The engine serial # is on a 2 x 2" pad reward of the oil filter. Take a flash lite and something the scape off the rust. USe the link in my signature for part #'s

To test the relay; key on, check both small wires on the relay (one should be hot "12V", the other one not) check both large wires (again one should be hot). Ground the small wire that "WAS NOT" hot and then check the "NOT HOT" large wire. If the relay is working the "NOT HOT" large wire should be hot.
The engine serial number is stamped into a boss on the engine that is next to the oil filter.
You can get a replacement glow plug relay from NAPA, or a heavy duty relay which is made by Stancor (I think it's a 109, but not 100% sure of the number) NAPA carries both of them.
Hope this helps.

It allways has. i'll go try it now.

I've never had to wait that long before. What does that mean is bad?

All it takes is one GP bad to make it start hard(er). 2 or more GP's bad it will take a long time to get it running and then it will run like crap untill those cylinders get cleared out/warmed up. IF it starts at all with the engine cold (40F or lower) the GPR is probably working.
