New to Forum - Please help ID a 1966 Carburetor
Hi,
I joined this forum today hoping to find info on how to identify a 1966 carburetor. It is for my brother's 1966 Canadian built "Thibeault" fire engine. I need to rebuild it because it is leaking gas from the accelerator pump area of the carburetor. I need to know the model number of the Holley carb. to purchase the correct rebuild kit. It is a 2 barrel model with a manual choke. The engine is a 330 Cubic Inch V-8, and has a sticker on the air cleaner assembly that states it has 190 Horsepower. It is an F700 chassis. I didn't find any numbers on the Carb. casting (I left the carb on the engine so we could keep moving the fire truck until I get the rebuild kit), but I do have the Motorcraft ID tag from the side of the Carb. The tag says:
D2HF AA
A 5M12
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Glenn

It does say Holley on the bowl!
Thanks for your reply. It does say Holley on the bowl though. I did some searching on the Inet and believe it is a Holley 2300G. G meaning governed. Any ideas on where to get service and adjustment info regarding the governor? I did see a servo hooked to the linkage for the throttle shaft? I have never serviced one before!
Thanks,
Glenn

That tag # specs out to a 1972 Climate Controlled Motorcraft/Autolite. Holley did make Ford carburetors, but I never saw them put their name on it. The servo you are talikng about is part of the climate control required from 1972 on up.
Does it have four screws holding the front fuel bowl on?
If all you need is the accelerator parts, you can buy that stuff in separate pieces at parts stores. I don't know a thing about east coast brands of parts houses. Take the accelerator cover and diaphragm off the carb and go down to a well stocked parts store and browse thru the Holley carb parts section. They have the parts on carded bubble packs with the Holley brand on them. Check on their website, too.Colt industries owns Holley, I think.
