Talking Which Exhaust 04 fx4??

My truck is 04 fx4 w/5.4 3 valve. Just wondering which catback system to get and how pleased you guys are with what you put on your trucks. Im leaning toward the JBA catback and also can you change these trucks over to side exhaust in front of rear tires ala harley davidsons and is it legal? just askin.

Futura427,
I was also leaning towards the Magnaflow 16614 for my 07 FX4 SCREW. How is the interior noise level at normal driving. If it's anything like the Flowmaster 40 series the wife said, not only no, but H.....L NO!. My truck has the factory trailer hitch that Magnaflow said the system may have to be altered. What are they talking about?

If you don't want something too loud and is still throaty, go with Borla. That's what I have on my truck, which unfortunately isn't a F150. I love the Borla sound.

Roush calls it the "offroad" version, same setup SIDO just has a less restrictive muffler so it's louder. I call it illegal but I'm not sure if it is or not. They offer an on-road version as well. The roush system is the same thing as the borla but cheaper. I was doing research on this when I was going for exhaust. My buddy had a borla setup on his mustang and I loved the sound of it. But I decided to go with the magnaflow at the last minuet cause there was a sale on it. I love the low throaty sound to it... I just like loud trucks. But for a new truck It's almsot perfect super quite down the highway but definatly noticable when getting on it!

You guys have been great!! in helping me decide its kinda like going to the Cabela's for that one special lure and when you get there it is like a candy store! I was checking another thread and listened to the MBRP exhaust man oh man friggin cool!!!!
Now I hear a lot of folks bitchin about cab drone is that a real big problem with alot of exhaust systems? And another maybe dumb question are there any guys out there that just didn't think you had to have stainless steel. and are there any good just steel systems if your not thinkin of keepin the truck forever? just askin thanks guys

man i love my magnaflow I have a 15 month old and she falls right asleep and stays asleep even when i drop the FX4 HAMMER with the front windows open. HAHA sounds nice and mean when you fire it up, but levels out in 2 minutes to a nice low tone. With windows up u barely her it unless u get on it, but even then its not that bad. I mean its the whole reason you got it in the first place.Let me tell you if u have a heavey foot already dont think it will go away GOOD imo. the sido set up fit great and i had the hitch .Just call them and let them know u have the hitch. if u order thru a shop let the know to order that way when they call MAGNA FLOW
