Hi all I'm usually over in the 70's forum.I found a used 50 gal gas tank for my f600 at a local yard (real hard to find junked big trks in my area)The problem is it didn't have a gas cap on it.Should I pass on it with rain getting in there/would the moisture mess up the sending unit and if you think i should buy it should I do prep before putting it on THanks a lot

 

At least I'd have it acid dipped by a machine shop. That would take care of the tank. Not sure of the sending unit though.

 

sending unit is pretty easy to test with ohm meter
if it is for a class 7 or 8 truck senders are easy to come by

 

wash it out and dry it and a good gas filter will take care of it.
