Question 1-ton wide track?

Can you get a 1ton with a wide trac front end? One sales man told us no then we went to a different lot and that salesman said yes. Also on Kelly blue book you can build it that way but on ford you cant.?. So can you get a F350 with the wide trac???????

Yes, it is option 67W on the F-350 DRW. Requires 4X4, 172" WB (long bed, crew cab), and 6.4L diesel. Not available with two-tone paint on FX4.

Yes they are right, I order mine middle of Aug. F350 drw with the wide track front end. We were going thru the options list and this came up, the dealer had no clue what it was until they called Ford. They said it was a good option so you dont have to make a 3 point turn in a parking lot

On KBB you can build one with two tone paint FX4 and it even shows you a picture of one. But it might be wrong. Its realy no big deal.

Hey thanks guys for clearing that up. My dad is probably getting a 08 here pretty soon and realy wants the wide trac but he doesnt realy need that much truck. The heaveist thing he halls is our Fiver and its only 15k lbs. Whats the best mpg yall are seing with the 1-tons? For gas mileage reason he actualy went and looked at a dodge the other day. But he didnt like it and it cost more than the F450.

Because 15k is such a round number it makes me wonder if that is actual "going on vacation" weight or the manufacturers listed weight. There can be a darn big spread between the two when the trailer is all loaded up.

If it is not actual I'd recommend going by a truck stop with a scale and finding out what it really weighs.

As far as the wide track goes it is a GREAT option. This is coming from a guy who had a long bed crew cab without it and now has the F450 with it. It makes a BIG difference.

No fair Big Sky Rancher beat me to the scaling. With my 450 towing 16650# 8.76 mpg for 2,000 miles and about 12.7 mty now that it is broke in a little better. The 450 is a fantastic towing machine. Can it accelerate and stop in a hurry. Had no problem 10 hours in the seat with a couple of small breaks.

I think the factory unloaded skin and bones they claimed only like 10k I think. I no a 1-ton dually could handle it just fine because he has towed it for a year and a half now with his 3/4 ton SRW. And it handles it just fine it just squats a little.

What is the make and model of your 5th wheel? I have am looking to buy a 1-ton to replace an older 3/4 ton to pull my fiver. Not sure if I need the extra truck or not. BTW...nice looking F-150 you have there.

Does anyone know how much the wide-track option sets you back?

It is a $470 option on the F-350 DRW; happens to be same price as rear view camera...

See my gallery for pictures of F-350 w/ wide track front axle on F-350

Interesting question. I read at an earlier time that you could order the wide track for a 350. I went to a large "mega" store complete with 10 salesmaen sitting outside and glitz and glitter all around. When ased that question to a saleman, after several days he got back to me and assured me that this did not exist. Several days later I went to a smaller dealer, and speced out my truck. When we were through, he assked if
I had any questions, and I asked him about the wide track, both he and his boss said that they never heard of it, but after looking in the Ford master book they found it, and to confirm from a post earlier, it is 67W.

Thanks to the people on this forum, because this is the only place I had ever heard of it, and now I also have it.

Nice Gallery Bob, The wide track makes it look tougher looking. First time I seen the rear view camera, that is neat. Might look for an after market one for when my wife drives it too.

I also agree that the wide track looks great. Good looking truck, Bob. I can't wait to get ours.

What is the advantage of the wide track? Is it just in a better turning radius, or are there other advantages?

Also- how much wider is the stance or track?

Thanks.
