Question Keith Black Stroker Pistons

Hello, I went to the Keith Black web site and found these Keith Black Forged Pistons part 860, they state for use with a 6.7 rod lenght and with a 990 pin size, they come in sizes from 020 to 080, what I would like to know is can these pistons be used with the Scat 6.7 rod ? Scat Rod has a 990 pin size As this way I can take my bore size out to 060 instead of the 080 with the 557ci ... will become a 545 or 550ci If I only go out 060 in the bore Thanks.

As long as the length is the right length, 6.7 and the pin size is right then you should be able to use what ever rod and piston combo you want.

Thanks for the info, as I am in Australia 460ci blocks are pretty rare and Expensive to buy so I would prefer to only take the bore out to 060, As I have the Scat 4.500 stroker crank and the Scat 6.7 rods, as I have been holding back on buying pistons as down here I can only get them in 030 or 080 bore...

Jamie those are most likely hypers aren't they? if so give Eric a call at diamond racing pistons (just google them to find website and phone number) they can make you pistons any oversize you want and can be for that rod/stroke combo. He might want to convince you to go with a 6.8 rod but just tell him you already have the 4.5 stroke 6.7 rod combo and they can do it. The pistons aren't going to be much if any higher than those KB pistons you can get them setup for the compression you want, they are a GOOD forged unit, they are going to be lighter and every time I have dealt with them the price has been right and Eric knows his stuff and will get you setup right.

Hello Mosterbaby, I have visited the Keith Black web site a few times in the last couple of days to check the part number KB-860, They state FORGED Pistons for use with a 6.7 rod and with 990 pin- and come in sizes 020 to 0140, Even I was doubtful at first- as I have searched high and low for months for pistons in 060, I will give Eric a call to see if he can help me out, if you find the time have a look at the Keith Black web site and those KB 860 pistons and let me know what you think of them...
