I am trying to remove the headlight assembly on my truck but i cant seem to find out how to get it out. When you open the hood there are 2 screws showing that hold the chrome ring on. i took those out but there are more screws that you cant get too. Does anybody know how to get the headlight assembly out?
thanks for the picture. that helped me get the assembly off. the reason im doing this is because im changing out the head light out for a clear one off ebay and im changing out the 2 amber ones for clear ones also. i got the two amber ones changed but i cant seem to figure out how to get the headlight out. can someone please give me idiot proof instructions on how to remove it?....thanks.
also i put on the clear turn signals and i plugged the stock ford light bulb back in. but since the light bulb is clear and the lens is now clear...my turn singal is clear instead of amber...so im guesing i need to put a amber bulb in there...but how do i know which one to buy if the number for the ford light is a clear one?...i really need help. thanks
Don't know about the bulb, but I'd check and make sure those turn signals are street legal first... A friend of mine did the same thing, had to pay a huge fine for it, twice before he took them out...
Go to an auto-parts store and find your turn-signal bulb in the look-up book, then find the bulbs on the pegs. If there's an equivalent bulb in amber, i should be right beside the clear one and have an additional character in the part number.
And Aaron is right about the legality issue--some cops have little better to do than harrass you about minor stuff like that.
Good luck!

the stock ford bulb is number 3157...and apparently theres a buld numbered 3057A...and that is a amber bulb. i never saw it on the shelf but ill go have a look tomorrow
as far as it being legal...all the lenses say D.O.T./S.A.E. approved. and i checked where i live and i was told as long as that is on the bulb the its legal. but i also googled D.O.T./S.A.E. approved and i found many sites saying that phrase means nothing...but i see the lenses on tons of vehicles where i live and alot of my buddys have them and none of them have ever been pulled over for them...so legality is the last thing on my mind
