ThumpeRoo's Compitition

Thought you guys would be interested in the Southern California trucks Thumper will be running against. They are kind of wimpy, notice what they consider an off-road trail. And, of course, this time of year they have no mud!

We could almost save the gas and make this run using my wife's 2wd Tarus!
I know my little red Jeep would run with them!

Oh ya! I'd put my 67 against those! As is too.

Man that looks like fun. Anything off-road is still pretty foreign to me, haven't had much a chance to get the truck off-road yet. Man it would fun fun fun.

Stick around - we will show you some 4 wheeling that will pucker you up! Thumper should be able to push mud 2 feet deep, and climb a 50 degree hill. His only drawback is that he is so large - most of the good trails are set up for jeeps and mini-trucks.

I was thinking I could take my Subaru Outback against them in that dusty setting... but that would be too much. I'll take them on in my Corolla.

You would have to clean up your shop first!

Now take that ground accross the street from you . . . .

I meant "way in the back"

Can't even walk straight in my shop these days. Soon as I get the '31 done with the mounts, it'll clear a bunch of room.

Mike, I love you like a brother, and sure do not want you to think I disapprove in any way (mostly I am jealous)

but how many times have you said, "as soon as . . . it will clear a bunch of room. . . ?

You get one project where you can push it outside, and another sort of appears - I don't think you will ever see the floor of your shop again!

Ya know...you're probably right

But there is some light at the end of the tunnel...as long as I don't drag anything else home (and I've been pretty good about that the past year or so) things will begin to clear up.

The only reason I decided to get started on this '31 was to clear room in the barn so I could take some "stuff" from my shop over there, when the '31 is a driver, I'll sell it off and start back on the '36...as i work on it, it'll give me more room in the barn to further clear the shop.

It really is a Ying-Yang thing, isn't it?

Boy, that is a good excuse to tell your wife - but do you really think you are fooling us?

Yeah, we can do the Baja thing if they want to.

I really need one of you guys to get some pictures of me playing in the sand at Pismo or something. That would be a great outting !!! I love jumping trucks at the Dunes. The most fun was the Bronco II with 4" of lift. You could really get that thing air bourne. But, then again there was the '82 Yota PU. That could fly too.

But, the absolute best is a Rental Quad at High Speed doing barrel rolls and hopefully you land it back on the wheels. Lol !!!

The only thing about Mud is it all happens in slow motion.... You get to live the mistake for a looooong time.

I only have one peice of advise...... ALWAYS wear a helmet !!!! Don't be a idiot like me in that first shot. I lucked out .... nothing to worry on that jump but, I thought better after that ....
