2008 Front end conversion

Has anyone attempted to put an 08 from on a 99 or newer truck?

I see several posts for the 05-07 conversions. Wondering if anyone has attempted or had any luck with the 08 conversion.

Thanks!

You guys have some nice stuff for sale too. I used to live in Shelburne.

I work for a dealer here but am off now.

I wouldn't be surprised if you guys DID do it!! (You or Summit!!)

I saw one on TV on a Mother's car show, I think it was an early model and the guy converted it to an 08. The guy had his own body shop, which would make it a little easier.

So, if one had access to the parts, does this mean it can be just a bolt on? And how about the reverse? If say, I wanted an '07 front on an '08. Would it be legal? Is it a design change only or is safety legislation involved?

Just curious.

the framerails in the front are something like 8 inches lower to bring the front bumper to a safer level for passenger cars. I would imagine that would be difficult to get an 08 front end on a 99 and newer truck.

I haven't seen any 08 full front conversions, but I HAVE seen a 99-04 model truck that was sporting a set of the 08 fender badges with the nifty lil vent gizmo. Not sure how they did that because the 08 ones are recessed. It did look totally cool though. I am gonna have to take my boss's new 08 apart and see how those things mount on.

My local dealer informed me that the parts to convert an '04 to an '08 front end are available, new header panel, fenders, hood, grille, lights and bumper will run you $2700.00 plus paint. mild fab req'd to make all the mounts line up to the frame. Not worth it to me. LOL.

Thats true but , the front of the 05-07 have a bolt on "Blocker Beam" that drops the front frame horn area a lot. not sure if its the same but it looks close to 08.The word I heard was the new frame just eleminates the bolt on "Blocker Beam" with a 1 piece frame but close to same overall height. Just my .02
