Talking Turbo guys

Where did all the turbo guys go on this one? I thought that we would have had a trick or two in here by now. I hope some body can help me before I have to take the whole thing off.

Casey, I am right there with you. My new blades arrive today and my research indicates that the guys that stick the screwdriver in the exhaust side "screw" the blades up. I am leaving on the 4th for a camping trip and don't want to make a mistake, don't want to take the turbo off, and don't want to run my damaged blades either. Hopefully, my new accelerator pedal will arrive soon and fix the TPS problem. I am watching this thread closely. Thanks for the help TJ.

I still haven't got any answers yet but I will post once I find out. There is a better way rather than using a screw drive to hold the exhuast side. I do know that. you need to remove the down pipe clamp then remove the 3, 5/16 12-point headed bolts that hold the EBPV/Turbo outlet on then you can get on the end of the shaft with a socket to hold the shaft from spinning.

Another day

Well no progress still. I am at mt ends with this one. I seriously think you just have to remove the turbo. I cant see how anybody could get a socket plus a swival down there. Also on a side note I was using the screwdriver and I watched my wheel very closely with a mirror, but I too think its a better idea to get on the nut. I'm just having a really hard time breaking these bolts free to remove things. I think that someone forgot to use some anti-seeze. Well begining in the mourning I think I will have to come to terms with taking the turbo off unless you come up with something Tim, BTW thanks for help.

Are you trying to remove the entire pedestal with the turbo? If so,You need to go to Sears and by a FLEX adapter, not a swivel. You may very well break the flex at least once doing it, but it will come out. So you might be going back to buy another flex if it snaps.
