f250 vs f 350

I really dont have time right now to check this out on the ford web site. Thought I would ask this real quick here on the forum. With all else being as equal as possible what would be the major differences in the single rear wheel f250 vs the f 350 6.4 diesel.thanks in advance.

Assuming you're talking about a CrewCab 4x2, the tow ratings are the same (15,700 fifthwheel), so you're just looking at payload capacity. The 350 will hold about 1100 lbs. more.

F-250 CC SB 4x2: 2670-3030 lbs. payload
F-350 CC SB 4x2: 3740-4090 lbs. payload

There is a difference in ride quality, but not really that much. Other than that options are the same to my knowledge.

That and the badging are about it. I believe the F350 has the 2 inch blocks in the rear.

The F-350srw has a heavier rear axle, hence the high weight rating. Uses the same housing and diff , but he axles themselves are of a larger diameter and have more splines. Been this way since 2005. Also the F350 comes with Aux springs standard and they are an option on the F-250.

Had a 2004 F-250 4X4 short bed. My 2008 F-450 4X4 rides much smoother....

The 08' have longer rear leaf springs, the ride quality has been greatly improved over previous years. If I'm correct the 04's still had leaf springs in the front. The new coil-overs make a very big difference.

The rear ends are just slightly stiffer the higher you go in weight rating. But the way they are biulding them now it's still hard to tell. The 08' F-450's ride smoother than the older F-250's, just goes to show you Ford is working hard to giver you a heavy duty truck that you can still drive all day long.

Other than what was mentioned above..not a whole lot is different. The ride will be about the same regardless.

Yup.
All the 350 and 250 rear axles I have seen have the same spline count and carrier.
Is that all there is to it? Lift blocks?
I heard this years ago but only when I started working on the axles did I realize its the same stuff.

A year or ago while comparing axles it looked like the F-350 had three spider gears vs. two in the F-250 too. Son-in-law had F-350 at that time.

Spec wise it looks like bed height is taller with SRW F-350 vs. F-250 but the DRW bed height of the F-350 is less than the SRW.
