Kickin' Butt And Takin' Down Names!
Doesn't have a whole lot to do with '09 F150, but then again maybe it does. Did anyone hear about the latest J.D. Powers quality survey? Just heard bit's and pieces on the radio but the gist was that Ford kicked Toyota's butt and hands down won overall in 5 of the 19 categories. Sure is nice to hear some good news for the American auto industry!

Built Ford tough!!! Americans will make the right choice and pick who is better. and the average Joe doesn't give a DAMN about "horsepower'' and "big Brakes"

Toyota can build an engine. Hell I used to have a 1977 corolla when i was 16, about 12 years ago, and i still see the car on the road. Granted its not a truck, but thats quality!
By the way, the average joe, cares a ton about horespower and braking. Checkout the forums in this site. Tons of guys are trying to find more horsepower and better braking.

Read all about it: jdpower.com
Ford vehicles that improved the most in the J. D. Power 2007 Initial Quality Survey were Land Rover and Jaguar, both of which are built in England.
Lincoln had the highest improvement of Fords built in North America.
Read what the J. D. Power charts say about Ford quality vs Toyota quality. Toyota is ahead of Ford in almost every catagory.
Who believes this crappola?
A survey of the owners who fill out these "surveys" would be an interesting read in itself. I doubt very many of them watch FOX News, if you catch my drift.
Personally, I believe this, and every survey is a bunch of Caca del Toro. The TRUE test of quality is how long the vehicle lasts. How many 1960's - 1970's Toyota's, Honda's, and Nissan's have y'all seen recently?

As I pointed out, I would rather read surveys about the people themselves that actually fill out these auto related surveys.

Those aren't average Joe's either talking on this forum.. most of the average Joe's don't belong to a car forum. and most aren't looking for more power and big brakes. I own a 4.6, 4.9, and 7.3 and i aint looking for more power outta any of them

Read thru the myriad posts in the various Ford vs the Competition forums. There seems to be quite a few ppl that want more power and bigger brakes, mainly on the upcoming 2009 F150.
I'm on four other truck related forums besides FTE. Most ppl on those forums DO want more power and better brakes. The other forums I'm on are Chevrolet (2), Dodge, and Titan related.

Here's a couple of reasons. How many Mercury Grand Marquis Police Cars have you seen? How many Mercury Grand Marquis Taxi Cabs have you seen?
The Crown Vic is used extensively as a fleet vehicle, while the Grand Marquis is mainly bought by Elmer Fudds like myself. In one year, the average CV used as a fleet vehicle will have 1000's more miles put on it, than Elmer Fudds Mercury.
Owners of fleet vehicles fill out surveys, too.
