Well yesterday was the big day. Me and my brother started taking the '50 apart. We got the front end(fenders and grill) off as one piece and pulled the motor and trans out together. Not bad for only about two and half hours. If we would have had the "hot wrench"(torch) over at my shop we would have got the bed off also. I have a question now. After pulling the front end off, I knew I needed fenders but I may also need the grill and the bottom piece that connects the fenders under the grill. Can all of that be bought new or will I need to find a donor truck?
You can buy the entire front clip, in parts or one piece, from many different manufacturers and retailers. No one makes reproduction parts in steel. Do a Google search for fiberglass fenders and you should find them.
