Cool What would cause my bed to squeak, ALL THE TIME!

Ok so first it was all the rattles from the door panels in the truck, bought this sound dampening material off ebay, put it on all the doors and behind the rear seat and then my truck was so quiet that i felt like i was driving a BMW (or some other luxiorious car). Then all of a sudden i noticed this high pitched squeak coming from the bed area, and it squeaks everytime the truck's frame or bed flexes. At first it wasnt that big of a deal becuase i could barely hear it but in the past 2 weeks the squeak has gotten so loud that now with my windows rolled up and the music on in the truck i can hear this damn squeak coming from the bed area, which by the way sounds like a bat almost. So i need to figure out what it is and get it fixed or lubricated because it is driving me INSANE!!! Anyone got any ideas of what it may be? I really need your guys intelligense becuase know if i go to the dealership they are going to tell me they cannot replicate the results....

I'd check the following

1. your plow mounts
2. exhaust rubbage
3. tailgate
4. tonneau cover parts/pieces
5. one of your speakers is blown, or partially grounding out
6. all the plastic pieces on the bed/bumper

I had the same squeaks and it turned out to be my tail gate latch on the drivers side - WD40

I got a squeak from the bed cover I put on. It had a couple places where alum pieces touched. I cut some fuel line and put it on the inside rails where I determined the rub was occuring - Fixed.

i'd say it's mice... go get some traps...

no, but make sure it's not actually in the cab - i know of the back seat rubbing and making a nice squeek every now and then that seemed to be from the bed's location.

def. check yer speakers out, as mentioned. i'd jump in the bed a few times to see/hear where it's coming from.

last resort is to buy some duct tape, a barrel of wd40, and one of those fertilizer sprayers. put wd in sprayer, spray yer whole truck top to bottom, repeat, and you should be set. after all, wd40 fixes everything.

duct tape? oh yeah... just figured you could always use another roll "just in case" gl!

I noticed that mine has a very similar squeak. I notice it alot more when I have the sliding window open. I just figured that it was something in the toolbox. But since you have posted this description I'm not sure anymore. It is a very high pitched noise and it is coming from the back of the truck. It could be the tail gate like was posted earlier. I will lubricate it tomorrow and see.

Yeah, i never thought about the tailgate but that is a very good possibility. I thought maybe it might be the bed bushings, and i just ruled out the speakers because I shut the radio off and i can really hear the squeak plus i just got 4 new speakers.

I'll have to search underneath that truck and everywhere and i guess just get a can of WD40 and spray anything i think might squeak. Will WD40 do anything to the paint if some of it gets on the paint?

Like gcozmo said, i really notice it when i have the rear slider open...
Ill go through the truck and rule out things and let you guys know what i find out.

Hey thanks guys for the responses really appreciate it!

I am similar to you and it drives my wife crazy. I hear every little noise and I demand perfection. She says it is a machine and it will make noise so get used to it. LOL

I had a squeak also...turned out to be the tailgate "stopper", a little grease fixed it.

I sprayed the internal parts in the latch area of the tailgate and it fixed the problem. I used Corrosion X. It lasts forever even at high temps.
