My brother has an '88 Bronco II, 2WD, 2.9L with an automatic transmission (don't know if it has OD or not.) The transmission is shot and we will look for a used one to replace it. How can we identify the transmission model? If we jack up the truck, where is the model number stamped? Is there a code? What are the meanings of the codes? What other trucks and model years use the same transmissions? Thanks! Any help would be appreciated!
