Australian F600 ID Plate Info

Can anyone help with working out the information on the ID Plate of and Australian 1955 F600??
The previous owner/s have mostly wiped out all the screenprinted writing from all the plates, leaving only the stamped numbers. The plate attached on the hood latch panel with two screws has two rows of stamped characters:

Row 1: 1G256 1470
Row 2: 1467 0127 0 4 1764

The numbers stamped on the firewall are:

8AAF
81
1764
04

I have looked at the ID sections in our Manuals but they seem to only apply to the US trucks, and make no sense at all with these numbers.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

ohh... I could help, but unfortunatly not with a vehicle that old. (back to 73 is as far as I can)

The 8AAF.... is the VIN.
But that indicates it may have been manufactured in Argentina... Are you sure it was manufactured in Australia?

I would try posting this in the 48-60 forum too... there is a resourceful group of guys/gals in there that might have a book on it somewhere.

Model Number: BAAF = F600 Cab & Chassis (that's a B not an 8)

81 = Conventional Cab

1764 = Numerical Sequence of Assembly = Body Production Number?

04 = ?

That's all I could find.

Thanks for the info Bill. Does that mean that the VIN for this truck would be BAAF81176404???

The block has ECG-8015-A on it which my research tells me is a 272, which must have been transplanted at some time. I was hoping the ID plate might help in this regard.
