Question Fuel lines on front of block

Hello everybody, Was wondering if anybody new the fuel presure on the two steel lines on the front of the block. One looks like supply from the tank to filter the other is return from filter to the tank. Good N.Y. state salt rusted line out. Just wondering if could splice in a rubber line. Thanks David

Sure you can. Your best bet would be to use a high pressure hose that's rated for diesel fuel. SAE 30R9 works great and is stocked by most auto parts stores.

For what it's worth.

I had the fuel lines on my 96 rot away at the point where the oem (12" or so long) flex line links between the engine and aft of the steering box. I just cut the rotted area off of the engine side, put some rubber fuel injection rated hose, and clamps in place of it. It's been that way for over a year with no problems at all. I did slip some plastic wiring loom over it to be sure it wouldn't rub against the frame or crossmember. I last inspected it a month ago, and all was still well.
