The transplant begins!

The transplant begins!
I just figured I'd share with y'all that my built engine is getting installed, and I pick my truck up next Saturday.
My builder started with a new '04 block, MLS surfaced with a roughness average in the high teens (I can't remember the exact RA factor), Fox Lake ported heads, Bullet custom grind cams, Crower springs to handle the .612 lift on the cams, Ferrea oversized valves, coated pistons, Manley forged rods, high volume oil pump, Navi water pump, windage tray, Moroso oil pan, large bore fuel rails with regulator, and 60lb injectors.
I'm topping it off with a Whipple s/c and a 10lb lower pulley.
Since my baby is 8 years old with over 119k miles, I'm upgrading the radiator, heat exchanger, and transmission cooler too.
All in all, I'm expecting low 11's with the right suspension setup. Maybe with an aggressive race tune, I might be lucky enough to dip into the 10.9's.

Sounds like a great set up.Let us know how she runs when you get it back.
I love my built block! I'm running pretty much the same setup.Going to the track today hoping to break into the 11s.Oh ya it's in a 6000 pound Supercrew! so you should have no problem hitting the 10s.Good luck with it!

Like everything with my truck, it will be a labor in progress. But oh man will it be a lot more fun having a built block!

I knew this day would eventually arrive for my truck, so over time, I built up some of the supporting mods in anticipation of having a built engine. I already have a True-Trac, TA Performance girdle, Monster Box tranny with 2400 stall, twin Walbro 255 fuel pumps, and a stronger driveshaft.
All in all, with the mods I already have, and the upgrades I'm putting in, I'll basically have a new truck!

It works very well. Predictable when applying power coming out of a curve, limited slip working just as well as the OEM setup, without any clutches to wear out!
I autocross with my Lightning as well as quarter mile drag, so I wore my OEM diff out within 18 months of having my L. I didn't want to have to worry about worn out clutches, so I went to the clutchless design of the True Trac and I couldn't be happier.

I have a True Trac in my '79 2wd, my '68 2wd and my '02 Jeep... they're the best for what I do. Totally reliable lock up in the right situation and quiet running (from what I can tell, loud pipes on all my rigs) and totally bulletproof. I run my vehicles hard, but I take care of them and so far with 65000 miles on my jeeps true trac, absolutley no slop at all.
