Dented bed rail tops

The top edge of the bed rail on the drivers side of my 78 has dents all the way down it. They are not very deep, just to deep to fill with a filler and then do right. I thought I might could work the out from the underside but you cant get to the under side of the bed rail. I also thought about drilling some holes and using screws and a slide hammer to lift them then filling the small holes back in. I really dont want to have to remove the bed to replace the complete side. Any suggestions for some one with out a lot of bodywork experience?

What about a more modern dent puller that uses the gun to weld on the pull rods. Check the Eastwood catalog for info.

Without going thru money on a stud welder that you'll use once every 40 years why not tack weld washers on edge allowing the hole for a slide hammer to pull on? Provided you have a Mig welder or do it at a friends with a welder. Cut or grind off when done, no holes for future rusting problems.
