Picked up my black f450 yesterday and love it ! Getting 13.2mpg on the first tank and wanted to tell everyone that this truck rules ! All of my concerns have gone away and glad I made the choice to go through with the purchase.

The truck is very solid, drives great and has good power - although not as fast as my banks modified duramax, glad to be back in a ford !

Congrats on the new truck but you have to post some pictures now! What gears do you have? That mileage is great for a 450.

Congrats Todd, I've been nervous too. Trading in a V10 for the 450, Still believe Ford is building the best truck in the industry

Have 4.30s and mileage is driving mostly highway between 55-70. Will post some pics soon ! This truck just rocks. It rides so much better that my old 02 GMC CC daully which us unreal. Cant wait to hook up my 40ft weekend warrior so going to take a road trip to the coast this weekend. 800 miles. Will monitor mileage and let everyone know.

I did notice that I was getting passed on the freeway list night, speedo seems to be a little slow - shows 60mph but seemed like less when I timed it between markers

good to hear. Is that hand calc or the computer??

I find that when I drive on the highway at 70 my 10.5 average on the computer starts to go down with my 4:88's. lol

I'm kinda waiting to see how others do with mileage before I go for the gearvendors kit. Not just because of mileage but also the revs/wear unloaded at 70-80mph on the freeway.

I too love mine. Would love to get that kind of mileage. LOL! I am averaging about 9.5-9.8mpg. (I have the 4.88 rear end though.)

Congrats on your new truck. (Good color choice too. )

I think the 4.88's may be overkill the way this thing pulls. Instead of the gearvenders I am kind of thinking about going to 245's instead of the 225's that come on the truck. That should be almost like having 4.30's. Have to recalibrate the speedo though.

Man, I'd love a shot at the milage you are gettin' but with a 21,000#+ fiver, I think I'm stuck with the 33,000# heavy duty tow option which requires the 4.88 rear end.

Oh well, at least I'll be towing legally again even though I'll have to take the fuel budget up!

Glenn, is your 9.5-9.8 MPG around town or towing?
