E4OD issue - help

Hey guys! I am new to forum but a lifelong ford man!
I just bought a 92 f150 5.0, E4Od tranny, 3.55 rear end, 53,000 miles. I am not new to f150s but the e4od is a first for me (have always had manual tranny) The tranny has been trouble since I got it, but is getting better. At first it shifted super hard and would often miss gears (like it would drop in neutral hunting gears). I dropped pan changed fluid and filter (P.O. had done this but used silicone on the gasket, which oozed into pan and mixed dried silicone in the fluid, so I got all that out). Tranny did much better for a while, but would still have some problems from time to time. I replaced the speed sensor on rear diff and put a sonnax valve in accumulator body to fix soft shifts (which is the norm when it shifts right). I replaced solenoid pack, b/c I had determined this as the root of so many different issues. To make a long story short it shifts perfect now and tc locks in 3rd gear when it should, but the new peoblem is the tc will randomly unlock in 4th gear for no apparent reason. I know it will unlock when the brake is depressed, but I am not touching the brake. what else causes the tc to unlock? Also the cruise control works randomly. Sometimes it works others it wont. I believe the tranny internals are fine, more than likely it is an electrical or vacuum issue. Any ideas?

sounds like the same problem I had before. The Point is, that the ECM switch the E4Od sometime in neutral. Maybe the sensor lost gröund. problem are the splice inside the harness to the tranny. But first look if the contacts of the connector on the tranny are not oxydated. For me helpfull are the pdf "Ford MLPS.pdf". you will find this at http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=20
