So how many quarts low was it? One and a half?

IF that's it, then I don't think the low fluid would of caused this?
I've drove mine alittle low before(about 1-2 quarts), and I've never had and issue.

I can't really think what it might be???

If it sounds like its coming from the torque converter it could be the Stator inside the converter which re-directs the fluid to give you the torque multiplication. Or it could tbe the turbine inside also. Umm I wouldnt know what else to say, maybe it could be the pump itself possibly. You are just gona have to do some R & R.

is it a common thing for soming inside the converter to go out? are there bearings or anything in there, or is it all floating? it sat on a shelf uncovered (forgot about it) while the motor was out, possibly got some junk in it?

oh, an if it makes for anything, it seems as if it lost power off the line.

Oh, Theres a thrust bearing in the converter that will probably be the culpret for the noise also.
