Now that would take some getting used too. Any idea how long the truck is with that?

That seems absolutely useless to me...

A four-door crew cab with two "half" cab doors at the back makes more sense.

But then again... The two "half" doors on the back of the present F150 regular cabs seem useless, also...

It's really hard to picture how this feature would be implemented. Would those rear half-doors access some kind of integrated toolbox? Would they extend the cab to have three rows of seating?

If it's three rows of seats, it's hard to see how that wouldn't cut into Expedition territory. Doesn't make sense to compete with themselves.

I would hope that Ford is putting more effort into it's new drivetrains than wether or not we need a door to access the front of the truck box.

At least Fomoco is being smart and putting towing mirriors on the 09 F-150. If only they got a front end shot, so we can see the new grille.

Spied 6-Door Ford F-150 Mule

I would rather have a decent place to put the spare like the F100's did back in the late 60's under the front of the bed with an enclosing door. So you don't have to lay on your back to get the *&^%$$ thing down when you have a flat in bad weather. I like that their thinking about useability, I guess it would make things easier for shorter people to get things out of the bed. I have to climb into my bed to get anything out of it.

you guys should click on the link and look at the pics....it doesn't look like they are doors to access the bed....the bed actually starts behind the doors...it's a seperate compartment that has the doors to access that....

thats why i thought it was something for a contractors edition or something like that

check the pics out in the origional posts link...

It's called a mid-box and is mainly for contractors/fleet sales. It is already in production in Kansas City.

It looks like a standard 8' bed so length would be the same but you are only getting 6.5' of true bedspace. It is nice if it has the integrated tool box but I wouldn't own one with those doors. Ford is definitely thinking outside the box. Wouldn't we all be p/o if 09' has no diesel option and no 6 speed tranny because Ford spent all R&D dollars on an integrated toolbox.
