99 Explorer - Flashing O/D Off Light
#47
How long has the lastest updated seperator gastest and plate been out.
The reason I am asking I had my 00 explorer in about a year ago and per the TSB they replaced with the updated parts.
Well a little over a year later I have shift issues and took it back to the dealer and their diagnoises is it needs this update per the TSB.
So I showed them where they did this a year ago and they are now telling me well the parts has been updated again.
Is this true??

per the invoice, they have all of the part no#s listed off the TSB. It is still under the exteneded warentey. Just costing me $50 for the deduct again.
Hopefully I see a few more parts listed this time.
Just an FYI for all those reading, codes pulled were because of low pressure, and the codes were listed on the TSB.
Thanks, for the help.

Yo yo,
Here's my update:
I tried to take off the pan (all the fluid came out but wasn't too bad), but the problem was that I couldn't get the pan out! The driveshaft and the Cat-Converter were in the way therefore the pan would not drop! How do I get those off?
Anyways, I towed it to a shop today and I'm going to have them do the work.
Thanks for all the help!
Late,
Nick

hrm, i wonder if the reverse servo fell out like it did on me (it might stay in due to friction) and i was curious if i installed it incorrectly causing my problem.
an idea for you to try is to be moving somewhat slowly and shift into reverse and give it just a little bit of gas. this did the trick for me. dont know why.
does your truck act like its trying to do something in reverse? mine acted like it was chained to a pole or something
Matt

When I go to reverse, it slightly feels like it wants to go, then it's like I'm in neutral.
I drove it home today...maybe a little bit better (maybe because I know to lay off when I'm shifting and I'm being optimistic), but I still get slip and I got an O/D Off as well.
I'll update again tomorrow.

Update:
well the dealer did not succeed with the same parts they installed a year ago. Now an erratic shift going from 1st to 2nd and having th flashing o/d light. Took it in, they re-read the codes, their verdict:
Bring it back in on Monday and we will have a loaner for you. They said they would have it for a couple of days. Looking like tranny rebuild.
Thank goodness for the extended warranty.
