I'm still going with the Super Camper Special.

The trucks rear axle does not seem to be far enough back for it to be a Super Camper Special.
Super Camper Specials had a longer wheelbase.
That truck looks to have the standard 133" wheelbase for a standard 8' bed.
The picture is distorted however.

Isnt it odd that the fender badges and FORD script on the tail gate are missing? Shouldnt the hub caps have 'FORD' on them? Its like the pic was doctored up.
My guess is its a 76 F-250.
Obviously its between 73-76 by looking at the bed. It looks like it has shoulder seat belts which came out in 75? I dont think Ive seen that bottom chrome on anything before 76. Im going with F-250 because the tires are tall and skinny.

Right off you can say it's a 1973 - 1979 Ford truck. Because of the exposed gas caps, I agree it's a pre 1977. The trim package makes me think it's a Ranger XLT. The hubcaps make me think it's a F-250. I also don't think the bottom trim was offered in the earlier years. It looks to be a F-250 Ranger XLT and I'd guess it's either a 75 or 76.

It was standard Ranger XLT trim 1973-1976.
1977, Race track trim took its place as standard.
Here is a 1973 Truck ad (hi Dennis ) for you to compare.

Shoulder harness first used in Ford F Series in 1973. Ford called them "Shoulder Strap" seat belts. Some trucks had them, some didn't, as they were an option originally.

I was wrong about the license plates. Correct on the year (73/74). I thought they were Black CA plates, looks like they're Blue. Now my question. Where in SoCA was the photo taken? I thought originally Hollywood Hills, West LA, or Pasadena, from the 1940's style home in the background. Photo was prolly taken in the summer, by the evidence of the grass on the lawn.
