Looks like ya'll had a great time. Wish I could have been there. I will say it was for the better however...after coming home from the hospital today I parked out front (odd for me...I'm usually in the garage). I went to leave to go back and saw a puddle under the front of the truck. Explained my unexplained coolant loss...I had been losing about an inch in the overflow tank a week, when I checked my truck on Friday it had lost about two inches last week...I thought bad head gaskets due to some coolant on the side of the block...

...I have a nasty leak in the bottom of the radiator. I'm planning on babying it until my dad gets out of the hospital, then I'll replace it.

Thank you guys for your concern in the other thread. I'm very glad you all had a good time, I look forward to the next time.

From Dallas,
Zach

To: Mr. J.D. Banks, Texas Chapter Leader
From: Clif L. Maloney (Lakerats)
Subject: "A "DAM" Fine Start!"

Mr. Banks, we had a very successful picnic at Mansfield Dam in Central Texas. While we had a slightly less than the anticipated participation, the quality of those attending was in the highest tradition of FTE principles!

I am pleased to report:

22 Registered participants
16 Registered vehicles (including 1 Mud Racer (RubberDuck))
15 FTE Members
13 Texas Chapter Members
11 FTE Supporters
1 Specialty Parts Dealer - www.dfuser.com
1 Certified Ford Mechanic - Randy (Mach1)
1 F-100
5 F-150
5 F-250
3 F-350
2 Excursions
8 Gas, 8 Diesel

As this was billed as a family event I am pleased to report that several spouses and girlfriends were in attendance along with several children.

"Fun" awards were provided following an "unofficial" judging. Nobody walked away without some type of award - even the kids!

Also, we were visited by the security guard from the Lower Colorado River Authority ("DP") who spent a considerable amount of time meeting and greeting the gang, By the way - he was driving an F-250 Triton.

The LCRA noted the unusual good behaviour of our gathering in comparison to other automotive groups he has witnessed at this location. We picked up our trash, there was no drag racing, no loud or lude behaviour, no loud music - the regulatory authority for this park was duly impressed with our group and we are welcomed back in the future!

Being retired from the DPS - I am truly proud and honored to be associated with this excellent example of FTE membership! All enjoyed much fellowship and conducted their affairs in the best tradition of the FTE.

Pictures of our gathering will appear in my gallery as well as in the newest thread: "A "DAM" Fine Start!" -- A Post Picnic Wrap-up! Please subscribe and visit as often as you can. Any words you care to share with the group regarding our efforts and accomplishment(s) will be most kindly appreciated.

Most sincerely appreciative of your continued support and counsel I remain,

Clif L. Maloney (Lakerats)
Spicewood, Texas

Clif, put alot of work into this event, Alot of dedication was required. The outcome was very good as well. Had a good time, it was fun-putting names with Sceen names and faces. Alot of good people, NICE trucks!! Beautiful Day.

Clif- Thanks, I know you put alot into this..Next Time I can help out more.

I should have stayed around longer, but had to get a couple of hours of sleep, before a 12 hour shift.

We should keep this going now that Clif, and others have some good time into effort.

The Spicewood guys will keep it going..

Again, Thanks Clif, and lets do it again..

Well done Cliff. Looks like a real nice turnout and it will only get bigger and better. Now that we've done this, a state get together can't be far behind.

That is a COOL flag...

Whats next??

We can do a DYI, install on something.. There was alot of interest on the DYI front, several people interested.

Like, an exhaust install, or a tank mod, or something along those lines...

Thanks again, for getting this rolling and your time, hope the wife was OK with the meeting...
