P0401 code

At least I think thats what they told me. Its somthin to do with the EGR vaulve, any suggestions?

In most cases, if the EGR ports are clear, then it is the DPFE (EGR SENSOR) sensor.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve.

It is on the backside of the intake manifold. It will have a vacum canister mounted on an aluminum piece. My '98 4.6 had the same code and both EGR ports were plugged with carbon. Cleaned them out and reset the CEL.

Get a Chilton book at the parts store, not the Haynes.
