Just north of Denver, About where 127th is now. There used to be a dirt bike track. I think it was called the " Brick Yard", That was in the late 60's. Anyone remember that?

In the 60's there was also a track ( unofficial) at I-25 and 88th ave. On the east side there are apartments, and the west side is an open space part of thornton. The 127th disappeared long ago as part of the Northglenn urban renewal era. I do not recall the name of the track.

We used to just call it "the bricks" but I am not sure exactly what it's name was. Hell it the 70's and 80's we used to duck and goose hunt at 88th and Colorado anyone ever party at Yamo****as by the river behind the moble home park at 88th and Monroe? Ride dirt bikes on Welby hill? Sneak in to the lakes at 88th and Colorado?

Welcome to FTE, as well as the Colorado chapter. You'll find this site beyond helpful and interesting. This chapter tends to be very quiet, but will chime in when prodded. Bunch of fine people from across the state here, all more than happy to assist.

Born in 56 in Sterling, Raised in Golden, Currently live in Arvada. Married for 24 yrs 2-Kids-Boy 22 / Girl 20. Owned a 1956 f-100 in High School and still have it. It's now a 4x4 w/ power stearing, V-8 390 w/ 4 bbl Holley, 4 Speed T-98 Trans. 1970 1/2 ton axels, 3/4 ton transfercase, Beefed up leaf springs and around 6" lift. New paint and interior in progress. It's been apart for about 20 years in my garage and I just started to redo it this summer. I'm stalling out again looking for parts scattered through the garage in buckets and boxes. I have her painted and 80% put back together but some things are missing and or broken. I've spent a lot of dough at Sam's Vintage Ford on Washington. I need to hit the Lottery! LOL!

Welcome to you too Wallary. As I told Wildland, you will find FTE not only very interesting and entertaining, but extremely helpful.

Amazing as to how small the world can be and coincedences occur. My mother was raised in the Sterling area, still have family there. I lived in the Arvada/Westy area for 22 years myself, 18 of those in the Trailside subdivision near 86th and Garrison. Moved to Pueblo about 4 1/2 years ago. Honestly very happy to be away from the rat race of the metro area !!

Welcome to the TFE site Wallary. Hopefully you will finish the 56 in time for next years Super Cruise. I made the last 3 in my 56 and had a great time (even the rain out) and stay till the end. You can find my 56 at Tequilas during the cruise where I meet with some other rodders. BTW, the Bentons ) both Sam and Sam) are friends of mine and I have been doing biz with them since Sam II was a preschooler as have restored and rodded a lot of old Fords. You might recognize my 56 from the pics in my gallery. You may want to get your gallery up since we in the 48-60 forum really love pics. And we have cookies.

Born in Trinidad (a male & still a male!!), Moved to Denver in 2000. Live in Arvada now. I remember thinking that a great place to buy land would be that area between the southern tip of denver & castle rock... That was in about 1990....

If anyone has any old decals or stickers from CDR, old bandimere stickers from 60's, or any other old, and far gone and forgotten colorado drag strips i will be more than happy to buy them for the car im building right now.

And guess i can do this....

I was born in Houston, Tx. Family moved to Aurora with me and my brother when i was 3. Moved to Georgetown after that, lived there until i was 14 or 15. Moved to Evergreen until i was 17, then to denver, lakewood, arvada, wheat ridge..

20 i moved back to georgetown, then to conifer, and now living outside of georgetown in silver plume (23 until december).

Wow, you freaked me out. I have a good buddy named Cole Ford and when I saw your posting I thought it was him - and couldn't believe that he was on here too. But alas you are Colo79Ford. Too funny.

Anyone else on here from around the lower Arkansas Valley? La Junta, Rocky Ford, etc?

Both of my parents were born and raised in Rocky Ford, and I was born and raised here too. We farm and ranch, so I don't ever plan on moving anywhere else. I just wish there were more people in this area interested in restoring old vehicles, building 4x4's and other grease-monkey business.
