76 f250 460 swap

I'm in the process of swapping a 79 460 from a 2wd truck into my 76 f250 4x4 and my question is what motor mounts will I have to use.

Do you have the mounts from the 79 truck?

460 swap

Yes, I do have the motor mounts from the 2wd but they're different right.
Towers on a 2wd are different from towers on a 4wd.

460 swap

Will any 4x4 motor mounts bolt up to the 460, a friend used 351M mounts in his 460 swap and Ive heard of people drilling out 390 motor mounts to fit?

There is an adapter plate that uses the 351M-400 engine mounts. The plate bolts to the 460 block, and then the 351M-400 engine mounts bolt to them. Then you will need to use the 351M-400 towers on the frame. Check on e-bay, I'm sure I seen them on there. (the adapter plates) Don't forget you will need a rear sump oil pan and oil pump for the 460 when doing a swap into a 4x4.

Summit Racing has the mounts that bolt to the frame using exsisting holes, that use the 2WD engine rubber mounts for about 60.00. call them. I just got a set of them, I'm starting my swap this Friday 3-23-07. I have my bare frame 1975 F-250 4X4 setting in my garage now, waiting for my C6 to be rebuilt.I also pick it up on 3-23-07.Can't wait, Kid with a new toy. Have not heard about manifold problems using the original 2WD or Van manifolds, guess I'll see this problem if it exsists by Sat afternoon.

Good luck to everyone swaping.

UPDATE
I just installed my 460 in my 1975 4X4 hiboy. I had a donor 1974 460 auto. F250 camper special. I used the mounts from simmit racing part # TRD-9433, and the manifolds from the donor truck, even used the right side exhaust from the manifold, with a little heat it fit in very nice. want pics just e-mail me.
