02 F250 Straight Pipe?

Have an 02 250 CC, still has the muffler installed, for now I'm just going to delete the muffler, got to looking at it and from the downpipe back it is a straight shot to the muffler, the tailpipe (out of the muffler it's higher up almost to the top of the muffler) How do you fix this the easy way for straight exhaust?

The easiest way is to stop in at a muffler shop and have them put a piece of pipe in.

You could also buy a piece of flex-pipe and use that. I don't remember where you can but that but someone will come along and tell you.

I have the same issue. Today I went to a muffler shop and they said it would cost $150+ because they have to modify a 4" pipe to fit. This is due to not being able to bend anything over 3" and the 4" pipe comes pre-bent. Don't know if this is common or just issues with the shop I was at. After I got home I found this link http://www.modsfortrucks.com/product...tems%27&d=1398 Much more reasonable and a DIY kit.

I went to a local Truck repair shop. they had a piece of 3 1/2 inch stainless flex pipe that was 28 inches long. Then two accu-clamps. I just my muffler off with a saw zal and get as close to the muffler as u can. The back of the muffler has that clamp and theres nothing that you can do but not use it. I went and bought a hanger and riged it up. It looks pretty nice. Now i had a problem with the clamps not holding. The tip moved around alot even with the clamps. I have access to a shop with a pit, i put a half inch drive socket and a pipe and tightened them as tight as i could, Then i drilled and put a screw right in through the clamp/flex/ and the regular pipe. Now it doesnt move at all and sounds great. I think the flex way is probably the hardest, but it might have been the cheapest. I think that it cost me less than 40 bucks. Wow it feels good tellin someone how to do something! lol SWEEET! Good luck!

I just had mine done. Local shop charged $45 for the install- welded and all. Sounds incredible but I will warn you...your gas MPG will go down since you will have your foot in it all the time!!!

But the only way i could see not liking it is in my case, My dad gets up and goes to work at 4:30 in the morning. Well im still sleeping and when he drives the truck, and that high idle kicks in..... OMG its annoying! LOL It dont help my window is right next to where he parks it. Its worth it good luck on your instal!

Underpasses, brick walls and embankments are GREAT to drive under/next too! The other day it was 20/F out here and the heat was on high since the window was down!

It takes about 6 months for your brain to retake control of the "vertical pedal application pressure sensor" from the ears after you do a straight pipe.

I had a custom muffler shop do mine. They cut out the muffler, spun the pipe, welded in a 3 1/2" pipe and added a 4" SS tip for $150. A little high, but I like their work. Any problems, they fix it for nothing.

The key is to rotate the pipe in front of where the muffler used to be. You usually have to cut off the existing clamp and heat up the joint to loosen it, but once rotated you can connect it to the rear pipe with a straight piece of pipe. My local Meineke did the whole thing for $60, including welding on new hangers.
