1961 Econoline parts
I am in the middle of restoring an econoline pick-up, and looking
for the outside round mirrors and a tailgate. I think it's called the
hi-boy type or the one which is level with the bed rail.
Also, I have a question about using new felt weatherstripping which is
not original equiptment and exsists in cars of today. I am looking to
find a vehicle that would probably have the inner window dimensions
where the old felt and metal gasket would have been used originally.
The good thing about the new weatherstripping used today, it does not
rust, and is easily cut to fit,and glues in rather than using fasteners.

I have a 65 MERC Econoline pickup & I have one tiny round mirror which was on the truck when I got it , its of the type which "clipped" over the edge of the door skin , in the upper most part of the door , its about 3# in dia. Dont know if this is original equip or not ? if its what you are loking for , you are welcome to it. but I only have one. {if I can still find it} If you ever come across a MERCURY tailgate , I could use a better one than I have as mine was almost unsalvageable, it didnt turn out as good as I had hoped. Merc's were only made in CANADA, of the model I have , Ford confirmed that there were only 1291 built , Mine is # 310. But I have a parts truck which is POOR & know if another which is POORER , but neither have tailgates .

I recently bought a 61 3 window. A veery soild truck and in mostly original condition. There are several places to find parts. I have found Macs to be a bit cheaper the Carpenter, and they both seem to carry the same stuff. I am looking for someplace to find production numbers for the 61, if you or anyone knows where I can find this type of info, I would be most thankfull for the help.
