Just moved here, and new to the state. Boy is it beautiful here! Hello all, from my family to yours!
Soooooo, just curious, is there anyone close to my location that knows a thing or two about fixing gauges in the '57-'60 trucks? Ignorance is not bliss!
Embarassingly, I am new to the restoration game. A "resto virgin" so to speak. I have done the easy stuff before on vehicles....brakes, master cylinders, pumps, alternators...etc. That being said, I opened the gauge face plate up on this truck and took a peak behind it and realized...
I am in way over my head!
It's a long shot, but is there a '57-'60 Resto wizard looking to take a newbie on as an apprentice? My family and I would be glad to compensate you for your time, and vast knowledge, with plenty of cold beer, food, and friendship.
Lastly, some feedback on next steps would be great...disc brakes? Alt conversion? Other things for road safety? Although, not too much is needed...this truck is a tank! I drove it all the way to huntin camp and back last year!

Ford guy through and through...I've owned a '78 F250 460, a '69 Bronco 302 three on the tree, (sellers remorse on this one still to this day), a '57 f100 fleetside Custom Cab w/ big rear window (long bed), a 1999 F250 7.3L Power Stroke (seller's remorse here as well), and a 2009 Expedition to haul the fam. Actually, wish I still owned all the trucks I sold over the years!
