Best Job of My Life...
How's this? My old boss calls me up, says his friend hired him to move a 32 Ford Roadster and a 56 T-Bird from his pop's place to his. 32 is in pieces, dad's in a mental ward. Spend two days @ $20 an hour ripping apart the garage looking for roadster parts. Found everything, and at the end of it all, Mike says I can have all the tools in the garage... I got at least $4000 in tools for just working my @$$ off. Two engine hoists, air compressor, more socket sets than I can count (all craftsman, snap on and williams), tap and die sets, ten vices, a full assortment of bodywork tools, a grinder, 5 power drills, 2 sanders, car ramps, a floor jack, a lifetime supply of motor oil and tranny fluid, work lights, c-clamps, tool boxes, mallets, hammers, drill bits, wrenchs, 3 torque wrenches, 2 timing lights, and mountains of other stuff in original boxes (granted, they were late 70's boxes, but still new). Helluva haul!
Anyone else have any crazy work stories? And even if not, anyone want to buy some tools? Granted I'm keeping most of my haul, but there are some randoms that are going to the swap meet if nobody wants 'em.
Oh, also have a starter and a reman. Carb for a 360/390 motor. Carb's still under warranty if you know anyone interested...
